Tim Heffernan

Tim Heffernan lives in Wollongong. In 2015 his prose poem ‘butterflies in Iraq’ was commended in the joanne burns Award and his poem ‘jesus uses his camera phone’ was short listed for Black Inc’s Best Australian Poems in 2014. These poems, as well as ‘It always begins at Central’, have been published in Spineless Wonder’s Press’ annual micro-fiction and prose poetry anthologies, ‘Stoned Crows and other Australian Icons’, ‘Writing to the Edge’ and ‘Out of Place’. Over the last few years Tim has been working in a translation collaboration with Iraqi poet Haider Catan – some of their translations appeared in the Red Room Company/Lyrikline Collaboration. Tim is also interested in ‘Mad Poetry’- his own and that of fellow mad poets.
