Judi Morison

Judi Morison, a Gamilaroi woman and descendant of one of the early settler families of north-west NSW, grew up in Sydney but still feels a strong connection to country. She has recently completed a historical novel, inspired by the stories of her great-grandparents and dealing with issues of social justice, identity and place. After working as a librarian, antiques dealer, academic and Indigenous project coordinator, she is now exploring poetry in collaboration with visual arts and, with the South Coast Writers Centre’s Black Wallaby Writers, is involved in facilitating creative writing workshops for Aboriginal inmates at Junee Correctional Centre.
