Delamere Snow – Joy Reid

I
~
Strafed snow
beneath Delamere woodland.
Morning needle melt
dropped water pellets, converting ice-helmets
into colanders.

II
~
Snow-yoked shoulders
of broad branches beacon –
white stripes that garner light,
they lay,
white panther-like,
sublime felines feigning sleep.
Beneath,
we stoke mud that clogs soles,
eyes and minds
wassailed by bright.
