Cindric’s Trolley – Libby Hathorn

Pushing his dreams,
Man-machine one,
His memories are secret,
His hoard is hard won.
Pushing his life
The trolley stash grows,
A son, wife, a lover,
His letters, who knows?
What’s Cindric’s story
A migrant who’s come
To live a new life here?
 Yet something’s undone.
Pushing his dreams,
Things never fulfilled,
Faces swim round him,
Some may be young still?
He’s rumpled and dirty,
A man gone adrift,
Yet deep in the trolley
Among things spindrift,
He carries a story
Knows it’s his to keep,
Parades it through Sydney,
Yet buriesit deep.
Pushing his life,
Man-machine one,
His memories are secret,
His hoard is hard won.
