Bundanon Group Poem

When I’m here, where I am now, I can
see a new beginning.
This beautiful land is indescribable.
There is green all around from up high
down to the ground
The animals are creeping through the bush.
We walk on.
The crunch of the leaves become dead and desperate.
I think of trees getting cut down.
Sometimes I wish I could just disappear,
on my way to a dream time.
The gaps in the caves make me
feel like someone’s watching over
me from a distance.
All I see when I shut my eyes is black.
I feel like I am lost.
Just take each day as it comes as there is no guarantee there will be another
It is a blessing to be able to breathe, look,
hear, smell, think. Don’t let anyone take that
blessing away.
