Grafton Bridge is known for being a slow bridge. It takes ages to cross the Clarence River. Just two lanes wide the bridge is frighteningly narrow. To make it even tricker the bridge is ‘kinked’. This corner creates a huge blind spot on the northern side of the bridge. It is wonderfully bizarre.
The NSW Government are paying for a new bridge to be built 70 metres downstream. It won’t be long until the drive from South Grafton to Grafton is a distant memory.
